Work in Canada from Senegal: LMIA and LMIA-Exempt Work Permits
Senegalese professionals can access both LMIA and LMIA-exempt work permits.
LMIA route: A Canadian employer demonstrates the need for a foreign worker and obtains a positive LMIA.
LMIA-exempt route: Includes Francophone Mobility (for French-speaking workers going to communities outside Quebec), intra-company transfers, and international agreements.
French advantage: French-speaking Senegalese applicants are prioritized for category-based Express Entry draws and may also qualify for the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot with a valid job offer from a designated employer in one of six communities.
Key documents: French/English language test, court-issued casier judiciaire, ECA, biometrics, employer contract or LMIA, proof of funds.
Official resources: Work permits (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/temporary/requirements.html).
