Study in Canada from Senegal: From Acceptance to Permanent Residence
This guide outlines the study-to-PR pathway for Senegalese students.
Step 1 – Apply to a Designated Learning Institution and request a PAL/TAL where required.
Step 2 – Apply for a study permit with your acceptance, PAL/TAL, proof of funds, and a clear plan.
Step 3 – Work up to 24 hours/week during term and full-time during scheduled breaks.
Step 4 – Apply for a PGWP after graduation.
Step 5 – Use the PGWP to gain 12 months of skilled work and apply through the Canadian Experience Class or a PNP.
Senegal-specific tips: French-speaking students may have additional options in Quebec and Francophone minority communities. Translate all documents not in English or French. Submit biometrics at the Dakar VFS Global.
