After two years of planning, I landed in Toronto in early 2024 as a permanent resident through Canada's Express Entry. I am a software engineer — my CRS score cleared the cutoff mainly because of my IELTS score and three years of experience.Finding the first apartment without a Canadian credit history was brutal; I eventually used a newcomer banking package that bundled a secured credit card.
Plus grand défi
Renting without a Canadian credit history — most landlords wanted a local guarantor until I found a newcomer banking package.
