Study in Canada from Côte d'Ivoire: From Acceptance to Permanent Residence
This guide is for Ivorian students who want to study in Canada and become permanent residents.
Step 1 – Apply to a Canadian DLI and obtain an acceptance letter. Request a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL/TAL) where required.
Step 2 – Apply for a study permit with proof of funds, PAL/TAL, and a clear study plan.
Step 3 – Work part-time during term and full-time during scheduled breaks.
Step 4 – After graduation, apply for a PGWP.
Step 5 – Gain 12 months of skilled work and apply through CEC or an international-graduate PNP.
Ivorian-specific tips: Translate all civil documents to English or French; use the Abidjan VFS Global centre for biometrics; French-speaking students should consider Francophone communities and Quebec pathways.
